This continuing medical education activity was developed for healthcare professionals committed to improving quality and reducing racial and ethnic disparities in health and health care.

Health care professionals may not be familiar with recent developments in strategies to reduce disparities. This CME course presents evidence-based best practices and practical strategies to reduce disparities in health care quality. Upon completion of this activie, participants should be able to: 

  1. Recognize the current state of health disparities in the United States.
  2. Identify health care disparities as a specific form of low-quality care.
  3. Describe how to plan and implement quality improvement activities to reduce disparities.

This CME course is available to physicians for credit, although any health care professional may find the information useful. It is worth one credit.
